Stone is a natural solid formation of one or many minerals. There are thousand types of stone that have been quarried thoughout the centuries. Quarries are located all around the world. A majority of natural stone comes from Italy, Spain, Turkey, United States, Mexico, China, Taiwan, India, Greece, Canada, France, and Brazil.

Although both granite and marble were created deep within the earth millions of years ago, the processes that formed them were quite different.

Granite is an igneous rock, which means that at one time during its development, it was melted like volcanic lava. Unlike lava, however, this melted (or molten) rock never reached the surface. It remained trapped inside the earth, where it slowly cooled and crystallized, resulting in a very uniform, speckled stone that ranges in color from black and gray tones to pinks, browns, reds, greens and white.

Marble is a metamorphic rock. It was once limestone, but over time, the combination of intense heat and pressure caused the limestone to re-crystallize. Foreign substances often entered the stone during this process, creating an infinite variety of colors, textures and veining. Marble is a lot like people; no two are exactly alike.

The Next Granite State Savvy Club Meeting/Playday will be
Saturday, July 18 at 9:00am at Stephanie Edwards, NH.


Open to ALL natural horsemanship students

Please let me know if your coming with your horse

This will be our first ever Parelli Style Poker Run & Trail Race. There will be five tasks set up at different stations located throughout the property. Once the task has been completed, you will be given a playing card, whoever has the best poker hand (5 cards), wins half the jackpot for that class (The other half will go toward the club fund). There will be two class? available to enter into for the poker run, freestyle riding or online. In the afternoon, we will have a Trail Race Challenge with the 5 tasks. There will be a $10 entry fee for each class. Sign up for one, both or all three. Many door prizes will be given as well, sponsored by Cheshire Horse in Keene NH. Please contact me for registration papers, if you would like to be a part of this fun packed day. We are a friendly group of people that just like hanging out with other natural horsemanship people. So, get off the couch and join the fun! Lunch will also be available for purchase at a reasonable cost.

All spectators, friends and family welcome.

Here is a clue on what the five tasks have to do with: water, egg & spoon, dragging, trail path, hill. As long as you complete each task in the easiest way, you will get your card. But there will be ways of making each task more challenging.

Can't bring a horse? There will be horses available for you to borrow.


At this Playday:

9:00-10:00 - Registration, please fill out the attached form and bring it with you.

10:00 - Meet in the ring to go over Poker Run rules.

10:15 - Poker Run stations open.

12:30 - Return to the ring and turn in your poker hands.

1:30 - Trail Race -This is a timed competition, going through a laid out course, which includes, all five tasks.

2:30 - Door Prizes and Cash Money handed out to the poker and race winners.

3:00 - Have a safe trip home.

The goal of the Games is to have success and learn. You can join-in or just watch and enjoy! You do not have to be doing the Parelli program, but it is encouraged. We bend the rules to make sure everyone has enough time to try new things and test themselves in a supportive environment. if you were building a castle .obviousely you would want to use the best stone for the job.aged grayish granite.good faces,good ends and stacks well....depending how big your castle was... i probably have stone you would want.i have a large parcel of land in southern new hampshire and am selling stone walls in the perimeter..these are mostley two man stones,and i have some large pieces for a roof,these are not boundry walls and will get destroyed when i subdevide,so its the right thing to do,yes,i am familiar with the sr2,s(laws)...100.00 a ton is a firm wholesale price that you cant beat.........remember this is a castle your building.not something made out of a truck full of crushed granite ..so it is going to be more expensive.every stone yard also has a delivery fee on top of the cost of the stone ..which is understandable.if you can hire your own trucking,thats great,the price is still 100.00 a ton.1 ton or 500 its still the same price...i have a backhoe to help you load.....we all have our dreams.some build castles,some stonewalls,waterfeatures,retaining walls.you will not find this stone in a stoneyard.and if your in the position to build your own castle,you probably dont want to pass this up...................remember the castle builder down the street used fresh stone out of the ground for their castle ,later to only find out it had iron in the stone which turned red and it bled all down the stonewalls AND BECAME UGLY,,not pretty,nevermind the many yrs it will take to age the rock.i think that was the court jestures hut.what a foolish mistake.............603-799-9699................i can help locate trucking.
